NOT sure of the Scots. First proof can be found in the "old" Greeks around 500 BC., Later very rare among the Romans. North of the Mediterranean bagpipes are detectable only from about 1000 AD. Whether, as some shawm instruments, brought by returning crusaders, is unfortunately not detectable.

Hi Stephen,

the distance from Moers to Korpitzsch 518Km. From Korpitzsch to Leipzig 51Km. 

1989  a long time (23 Years)  A long way in a human life.

In 1986, I visit Berlin, before the wall is falling down. A nice City island.

At that time, when I was driving through the "DDR". I never wanted to live there. Everything was so gloomy.

I never thought that I would sometimes go to the east. But now to live there is beautiful.

as it looks, Alexa and I are soon to own a house in Korpitzsch / Bockelwitz, 04703rd
(With plenty of room and workshop)
The current owners live in London.
There are crazy beautiful Dutton roads, in beautiful scenery with lots of curves, hills and castles. (Similarly, in South England)
51km to Leipzig, Dresden, after 71km, 111km to Czechoslovakia, 190km to Prague.
We will have an additional apartment.

So anyone who wants to make happy holiday with us, you are invited from next year.

You can bring your Car ;-)
