Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

This ones for the tyre/wheel expert if we have one, currently the tyres on my Sierra are 175/80/14 on 6j Weller rims, the rears are nearly ready for changing and i would like to fit wider rubber, question is safety wise how wide can i go on 6j rims? 205/70/14 size is  almost the same  rolling  height as the 175/80/14s, but as 1st gear is pretty low it won't hurt to go a bit  bigger, 225/70/14 would be about 1.3 inch bigger rolling height, so what do you think ?

Is that table right? for a 5" rim the ideal tyre is 28mm wider than the rim but for a 12" rim the ideal is exactly the same as the rim.

Thanks guys, ill let you know how i go on Stephen, and Wayne thats a usefull site, cheers.

Ok so after trying to find a matching pair of 205/70/14s part worn and finding they are a bit like rocking horse poo, iv'e decided on 195/70/14s as there seems to be a good supply of these. Before anyone mentions it yes part worn, i can't afford new.

205's are a bit big i think for such light cars.......185/s or 195's should be ok. i use 175's + 185's.

Don't want slowing down wayne !
