Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Probably all been said before, but, I replaced all my fuel pipes 4-5 years ago on the B+. On removing the tank to do some 5 link work, imagine my surprise to find the pipes from the tank perished internally. I examined further and yes they are all perished, I split one open length wise about 1 foot and it is showing signs of delaminating, degrading etc. Then I took the main filler pipe to the tank (2") and that too has gone squidgy. All these pipes were bought brand new from Ebay as suitable for unleaded. May be worth a look at yours if they are aged. Have now replaced with a reputable pipe and lots more 10mm. copper. Is 5 years the norm now for flexi's.

For modern fuel you need the correct type of fuel pipe. Sadly most motor factors still don't sell it :(
Sae30R9 for ethanol resistant liner and Sae30R10 if it has to go inside the tank.
Also don't use copper hard line as ethanol strips copper and zinc, more of an issue if you have fuel injection as it clogs the injectors.
