Check your tyre pressures, around 15-18 psi seem best, that's the cheap fix :-)

lol. just looking for some rear mk1 escort shocks....£100 pair. wtf. are their any cheeper alternatives out their...help

small world that was me that messaged you on ebay last night......any discount for a fellow duttoner...lol

hi graham. just had shocks off their fine. however the guy who built the car has used wrong size shocker top bolts...way way too small. so thats where the knocking has been coming from...sorted it now. sorry for messing you about..brian

ano..nearly had a heart attack. im trying getting told cant get anymore... any ideas...and thanks

ahhh! common fault due to the Dutton having wrong size hole, been there, got the t shirt. Glad you sorted it.

Didn't Adrian have a post on this recently ?

thanks folks. i removed the shockers. went to old moto spares shop. they took me down the cella to a small room full of nuts and bolts. 10 mins later perfect nuts and bolts. tricky to fit. but got their. no nasty banging over potholes anymore. can still here something bumping on back though....sounds like role bar. ill find it another day....lol

Just a thought Brian, my friends old Melos used to bang, found out in time that the spare wheel used to flex slightly. He removed it and it was OK, he padded it out and I think it worked. Then someone wrote it off. My B+ had a banging from the exhaust, surprised how much movement you get when driving.

you should its amasing...especially when its dark...:-{

mmm must admit i have suspected that thing aswell. may remove it and see. exhaust iv allready looked at. when you say he padded it out. do you mean the wheel carrier to body....or the wheel to carrier. checked the tank thats all tight. pulled and pushed on the springs they seem tight. ill bet your right ill have the bugger off tmz.

Think it was just the wheel bouncing on the bodywork, will try to find out exactly what it was, might take a couple of days, he is off testing lifeboats somewhere.
