Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

I just spent some time with a guy who is in the SW Lotus club. Seems he is the dogs do dah when it comes to suspension and 5 link set ups etc. he has gone now and left me totally confused and my B+ with bits of masking tape all over the sides. Seems my lower arms are way to short and the top arms aren't. The centre of balance and the centre of gravity is way off from where they should be, but its a Dutton, what do you expect ??  I now have loads of calculations and diagrams on how to set it up and how to put it right. Man at the weigh bridge was great and very amused by all the forward, back, forward stuff that went on. I think it may be a Dutton Torque write up and I think it may get some bad comments from those who think they know better :-)) The final thing was about brakes, wheels and tyres. Many 7's and Locost racers are discovering that 13" rims and slightly higher aspect tyres are the way to go, something about un-sprung weight etc. more of that after I've had a brain rest. I've been triangulating and dividing. Great bloke but a little deep for me :-)))

Just read something interesting on another forum. Scooby diff and inner cv joints, mate up to  Metro shafts and hubs with no trouble, interesting find for the future. Maybe.
