my exhaust manifold has a tiny hole in it im going to try and weld it up, but if it all starts to blow through im going to need a new one. anyone know who could make a stainless one for me . they are quite rare.  its a mk2 cortina gt.

lol @ oh yes graham..... iv noticed a problem with this manifold its quite close to the bulk head....would it be a good idea to fit a polished ali plate to the bulk head...? would this help to protect the fibreglass ......

why is that better than a plate..? dont really understand how that works...does it reflect the heat back into the manifols......thanks daryl

Ade has a plate, I have made but not fitted a plate. Heat wrap is good but don't get it wet :-))

you probably never used it in the wet then, everyone I know says its OK until it gets wet, then you have to re wrap it.

ok chaps next saga i fitted the escort manifold...and to be honest im just not happy with how close it sits to bulkhead (20mm) and electrics. so its back off and in the scrap bin. lesson learned (escort manifolds do not fit cortina crossflow in a melos without basically re working the whole bloody thing.) managed to fix the old cortina one for now. waiting for new manifold gaskets and vht paint and it will all be put back together...im still smiling :-)
