Yes it is possible that the car retains the original donor registration and still state Dutton Melos on the log book it will also state the build date but retain the age of the donor car......odd but that was the system for kit cars i the 80's
for France it could have two apparent age dates, the donor age, and the build age, but i dont know which is important for you.
the yellow melos on ebay is a 1971 registered car, it cannot be built much before the early 80's , but could be still 30+ years old.
My old Legerra kept it's donor cars id and reg date so was officially 1974. It was built in '89. It was properly registerd as a Legerra so it is possible. As Dave says it's how the system used to work
so what i understood is that in the eighties it's possible to have the date of first registration of the car and also the date of "rebuilt" on the v5??
There was no rebuilt date on my V5, just the original reg date of 1974
Its this Sierra Dave that i bought from you, last year at mot the tester (who had not seen the car before) wanted to do the emissions test as an 80"s vehicle until i told him he had to do it as pre 75 just a visual, bit of a bugger when you have to tell a qualified tester how to do his job, mind you its handy when your an ex tester so you can keep an eye on them :-) .
