Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Fitted to new brake calipers (bought off ebay jumble master). They fitted ok (i was using SP12 calipers) , the caliper did rub on the hub (i have these hub spacer / converters triumph to ford PCD). Had to get the hubs turned down and grind a little bit of flashing off the caliper. Bled the brakes and appears good.

Fitted the new carb refurb kit , car runs better howerver my engine is a bit worn and i might need a catalytic converter to get me through MOT. The engine is a 1968 cortina 1600 gt (681 block).

For the MOT will they emission test the car to 1968 requirements or 1983 when it was first registered, or just a smoke / visual examination ??????

Kit cars of your cars age are exempt most exhaust emissions requirements. .......visual for smoke and perhaps CO below 3.5%
