I am shocked at this turn of events, as Mike has said, take a little time out and once you have had time to reflect maybee you will think again, but what ever happens, good luck and again stay in touch.
Mike, no, as far as i know no one can get access to club funds at the moment, what i assume Dave was concerned about was if the club splits into regional groups, and the posibility of the northern Duttoneers having influence over the usage of funds more so than other areas because they are already up and running.where as there are no fuctioning groups set up else where . i can see where he is coming from, but i also think that regional groups are the way foreward. whats the answer ? , i dont know.
Mike you know us all well enough to know we have no other agenda then to see the DOC continue.
Yes we did pay for our own banner, tour polo shirts, gazebo's, membership of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Club etc.
That's all we did it for.
I think you need to get the facts right Martin before you start pointing the finger at the Northern Duttoneers. We have always funded everything we do by ourselves and never asked for any help.
If what I think Dave is trying to say, is last AGM when we wanted the club only to get back on a even keel, Steve H suggested, a discussion point on asking for regional funding to help all areas to build on what we The Northern Duttoneers had done over the last 4 years. It was not intended to be used for anything more than promoting THE DOC and helping members to get together, so no planned Jollies or parties.
The Northern Duttoneers will continue with (preferred) or without the help of the DOC. It's a shame that Dave has taken this path, but that his decision.
Dave, you need to look again at what i actually said, i have not pointed any fingers, or critised Northern Duttoneers, i said if the club were to organise on regional grounds, then there could be concerns, not that there was concerns , hope this clears this matter up
I think that it is very sad that Dave Adams has resigned. I cannot imagine what has been going on for him to get that upset that he should decide to leave the club so abruptly. From my experience of him on this site and on MrG's then I think that we have lost a good chap and we will come to sorely miss his contribution.
I am not passing judgement on anyone as I have no idea who or what provoked his action, it could be some very real problem or it could be a series of unfortunate misunderstandings, but the outcome is very sad for us all.
