very nice, but for one thing......as your probably well aware i have spent some time looking into headlight fitting and placement and the picture of headlight/lights placements is not correct. The headlights minimum distance from the road surface is measured to the centre of the headlight and not to the bottom, the other dimensions are correctly labelled.

as detailed here:

The last time my homework was marked was 1971...

Dave I refer you to section 25 of the IVA manual an extract of which is now on TND webite http://thenorthernduttoneers.com/BuildtipsandInfo.aspx. The link you posted refered to the alignment of the dip beam which is set in two ways one above a centre line of 850mm and one below 850mm.

If you take aproper look at the drawings on TND website http://thenorthernduttoneers.com/BuildtipsandInfo.aspxyou will clearly see a line at the Min height 500mm and a line at the Max height 1200mm differerence between those lines is 700mm, and that's one bl**dy big headlamp.

No need to chuck teddy out of the pram dave ;-) :-)
in my sva manual it states clearly that dip beams are measured from the beam cut off point, in practice the centre of the light lens. i am led to believe that the newer iva standard adopts the same criterior. since all our cars predate the sva and iva it is fair to assume that 500mm to the centre of the light is legal as a minimum. the iva manual is not clear on this aspect as it does not give reasons for failure like the sva manual did. having asked this very question on other legal forums it is still apparently the case that dip beams are measured to the centre of the light for the minimum height.
And therefore it is safe to presume the manual is missleading on this one small point. it is certainly something that needs clarification.
