Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

I dug out the B+, cursed James V6 detonator, bloody heavy to push around, then aimed North to the Bath and West showground at Shepton Mallet to see the Footman James Classic Restoration Show. What a fantastic show, and what a good turn out. Plenty to see and do, lots of "component cars" and some really good workmanship. This is the way a show should run, it put Stoneleigh to shame. Well done the Bristol boys for organising a great day out!  Then, we had to come home (90 miles). Sun had dropped and it was getting chilly, no, it was getting bloody cold ! Following our friends in their heated Quantum Extreme we were trying to suck in some heat :-) Steady 70ish slipped in overdrive top and tried to cuddle down and get some heat from the gear tunnel, pretty hard in a little B+, but it was fun, really. Wife is never going again in winter, anyway, this show lacked a Dutton stand, apart from that it was the best car show I have attended, even the car park was full of interesting cars, from kit cars to hot rods, rat rods and half restored whatever.

I may go again tomorrow, on my own I think!

I should just say that my wife is claustrophobic so we never have the hood up, she copes with the side screens. Not even multi storey car parks are allowed, have to drop her at the entrance.

That must have been very cold on the way home. I was working outside (on the Duttonator's home) with a woolly hat on and a fleece but I could feel that it was pretty cool by the time it got dark.

Well, I didn't go back. Cold took its toll, lots of stiff joints etc. (that's me, not the car). Did a bit of digging in the veg patch to get the blood flowing, then got to putting the B+ into hibernation and James Duttonator back onto the stands and levelled in. Surprising where the time goes when your having fun. My son and his mate helped, big strong boy's. Got a Marlin job first thing then back to carefully grind out more bent and rusty bits :-)
