Hello Steve,
I did not only mount the reversing gearbox but also exchanged the engine, because it was spitting out the cooling liquid. I expect to have the first testruns soon (within a week).
And yes, I am going to renew the interior also, new red covering inside and new seats. And yes, I will also mount the little perspex window to keep an eye on the gearbox and drive shaft. :-).
Looking very good Bert. Is it up and running now? And, can you see that reverse gearbox through the little window :-)
wow iv got to ask sorry whats it worth ??? @daryl ano lol :-))))
This problem solved. Now Brian knows what the use of the Gold thing is.
They really exist! To use in combination with a bike engine. Because you don't have a reverse gear in the bike gearbox. The Honda engine has 6 gears. The funny thing now is that when I use the reverse gear I have also 6 gears backwards.
iv never seen one of them before....:-)
I am planning to make a Perspex window in the tunnel to see it from the inside during driving to have a little but more fun otherwise it is hidden under the floor. :-).
That "gold thing" is a Quaife reversing gearbox. And you are right, it costs a fortune.
im lost whats that gold thing ?
