headlight brackets need to be substantial as the will vibrate and crack in short order, yes wheels touching the body is a MOT fail, easy way to solve the problem is to put jubilee clips on the steering rack to prevent full travel then refit the rack boots over them.

rewiring is a doddle check out my how to article....you can find it on MrG's forum and else where on the net.

also mud guard wings also need to be very stiff or they will crack and break.

Recent activities

  • Fitted the head lights (although they do shake a bit)
  • Indicators
  • LED day running lights
  • New coil fitted
  • Made new brackets to hold the cycle wings
  • Rubbed down the cycle wings  ready for painting (i made these by recucling the front ends that i cut out).
  • Fitted reversing light and reflectors.
  • Sussed out how to get the car to start first time ( pull the choke all the way out and no pumping of the pedal lol )
  • Secured the battery

Recently noted problems

  • On full lock the tyres touch the side panels (MOT failure i imagine)- even with hubcentric spacers the FWD Peugeot wheels are too far inboard. I might fit RWD wheels , but difficult to obtain in 14” or 15”
  • The Steering column moves to far up and down (too much play)
  • Exhaust manifold blowing
  • Petrol gauge reading all over the place

The big jobs to do

  • Rewire the entire car – not looking forward to this as this is not my strong point)
  • Bolt the seats in and fit harnesses
  • MOT – July 2013
  • Fit Wipers
  • Paint the car
