Danny boy, the hole in wallet was small, thankfully. £100 for the complete engine which included a spare inlet manifold and complete distributor. oh and bloke chucked in the engine stand and i dont mean the barrow! it looks brand new so im feeling rather smug.

Big Vern, reason for keeping original V6 is because car was actually built new by Dutton so that what they fitted to keeping with same format. plus will always sound better than straight four. this engine mated to type 9 5 speed with atlas running 3.09:1 is the ultimate plan.

"these R perfect 4 kit cars lotts of low down grunt"  Hmmm... Lots of low down grunt good for mud plugging 4x4 off roader - not so good for lightweight seven style sports car. Way too heavy!  don't rev ( I know I've blown several up trying LOL) not a lot of power from 3L.

1.8L zetec at least as much or more power, weighs just less than half, lead free,

As the Inspirator of all seven type cars (Colin Chapman) said more than once "for increased performance just add lightness"
