Well the P1 with a huge 56 bhp from its BMC 1098 would look a flyer lol

Even with 34 bhp, it could be scary. It was dreadful in crosswinds and didn't understand the term 'handling'. It was fine for just trundling and going slowly. I loved the big flat steering wheel though - just like a bus, which is how we thought of it.

my son and his mate have a scooby powered splitscreen surf bus, scary to drive :-))

I passed my driving test in a 1964 1200cc split-screen VW Transporter. It had a top speed of 60mph. It could keep up with the traffic in its day. It puts the Dutton in context.
