Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

The camshaft pulley looks dreadful with all that rust. Some home plumbing in there too. The Pinto is a bit of a squeeze. The fan is a long way from the radiatior, which is in front of the crossmember, so maybe an electric fan out front would be better. I guess a new cambelt would be a good idea.

Every dutton i have owned with a ford engine in it (4 so far) has had spacers between the engine and mounts.

I've had a look at the engine mounts on mine and they have a nut between the mounting bracket and the engine, presumably as a spacer. Was your engine offset to the nearside by 2" from the centre line like mine is?

Here's a photo of the bay of my old one, you can see the difference in height. I could still get the bonnet over the top of the air filter, I did need a cut down sump though.
