If a salesman lies to you then you can change your mind.

I brought it under control but for 20 seconds or so I wasn't in control. It only worked out fine because it was on clear, dry, straight motorway with light traffic.

I had a rear wheel 'blow-out' in a fully loaded-up Mk1 Escort estate when I was doing 80mph on the motorway. The car was almost uncontrollable until I managed to slow it to 60mph. The car oversteered worse than anything I have ever experienced, and I could only reduce speed by very slight reductions to the accelerator and just steering straight ahead with my fingertips. Luckily I was going straight at the time with nothing in front of me.

i am not saying all blow outs are controllable........but a fair few folks in this country seem to dislike driving and treat their car as an extension of their front room........

I would argue Graham, that anyone loosing control of a car following a blow out was not in full control in the first place. i have witnessed  accidents where a rear wheel blow out caused the car to swerve all over the motorway and "T bone" another car. the guy driving was sat in his seat in a very reclined position one arm over the passenger seat and one finger on the bottom of the steering wheel.  if he had been driving according to the highway code he could have easily maintained control of the car.

i have had a blow out on a front tyre at 70 mph on a dual carriageway in a Austin metro at the apex of a bend.....it was brought safely to a halt. the passenger foot well on the car was caved in by the disintegrating tyre it was very noisy and a bit alarming at the time.....but controllable. if i were the old bill attending an accident where a tyre blow out was a cause i would look to giving the driver a ticket for careless driving.

The end of the world is in 5 billion years, when the sun turns into a red giant and engulfs the world. We have not booted the EU, we have just had a referendum which asked Parliament to boot the EU. But Cameron wouldn't do it. Maybe nobody will.

Airbus are not moving their headquarters to the UK. Why would they? As a French company, they could not make those French workers redundant if they ever wanted French government contracts. By the way, there is no mention of Airbus moving any headquarters of any division on their website - maybe they don't know about it yet.
