Phaeton's for sale

I have heard of 2 or 3 phaeton's up for grabs. They are in the Silverstone area and have 1600 Xflow engines....
One has been a trials car and was a championship winning trials car a few years ago appearing on BBC top gear.
The guy is looking to sell them to DOC owners for preservation but may break them if no interest. ....

There are a lot more owners than the 150 on here but some seem to think this is the be all and end all of Dutton ownership

One I haven't got round to it yet for reasons given and two I have approached some folks who have asked me for restoreable cars I am giving them a chance before I put more effort in...

So why not post on the club site as well ?
Some people do read it and they aren't on here either
People don't use it then it will die

it came to my personal phone as an enquiry and to my personal email.....i gave my club email once i became aware of the nature of the offer, but the vendor chose to use my personal email. the guy did say he had tried some of the numbers posted on the web site and my number was i believe recommended to him by a third party (Although it is also on the website.....where as my personal email is not)

in the conversation i was asked to give it the best possible chance of finding an enthusiast to buy the cars. the DOC forum is not very active and almost no one posts there who doesn't  post here as well.

I have also enquired of some folks who have said they are looking for cars/projects but so far almost no response........

as for the sierras they were offered to me personally and i couldn't accept them i offered them to folks who had expressed a wish to get a car for daily use. i took them at their word, what else can i do? they were given away in the same way as they were given to me. there are some who would have profited from them (one did) not me and i dont sell log books either, though i am asked to often. i also get offered log books from time to time, i can where i get the details record them and pass on the details on to the authorities for them to deal with.  I did with them exactly what the owner asked me to do with them if i was not interested in them. he was not unhappy  at the time, quite the contrary.

Just curious did you hear about these from your own sources or as sec of the DOC ? If its the later shouldn't it of been listed on the DOC message board or blog page first ?

Okay, I've just read it - Silverstone area! The green one looks to be jacked up, any idea how that was done?

Is that a hydraulic handbrake? Presumably that is for trialling rather then handbrake turns. Does it have a special diff as well, maybe? Whereabouts in the country are they? One has number plates, was the green one ever registered?

Green car on trailer was a runner 6 months ago when it was driven onto trailer. The other car was bought for spares....there is part of a third car as well... xflow 1600 711  blocks.
