safe underbody paint for melos

hi all i have a dutton melos and was wondering if its safe to use underbody paint on the wheel arches...ect. may sound daft but im scared it will soak through to the upper layer of paint. many thanks for any feedback..

hi just putting this on for  future ref.. iv used the hammerite underbody sealent and its dam good stuff..
