Sorry Rob. Nick has all the mags, when I asked him for a 'supply' to send to new members he gave me 8, used them in a week and he still hasn't sent me anymore. If I had one, I would have sent it by now.

I'm fed up with asking to be honest.

Has Nick given you any reason, for only sending you 8 mags ??  This does seem all rather ludicrous.  If any one wants my copy, pm me your address and I will send it.

I don't really want to go into this subject on a public forum guys, especially one thats not 'part of the club' as it were.

There have been communication issues with some committee members, We have tried to resolve them with limited success. I'm sure it will all come out at the AGM and that's the way it should be. 

If any of the committee members read this and have been unable to get in touch by email then let me know and we can try to sort it out. You know who you are and I'm not going to go pointing fingers on here.

Mike, I'll look into why you didn't get one tonight. If it's any sort of consolation I didn't even get to read mine from end to end as I had to send it to a new member before I got the chance.

WELL SOMEONE NEEDS TO SORT IT PDQ !!!!!!!!

I don't care if this is a public forum or that its not an official Dutton site-this is where most people seem to be so its going on here

The magazine was printed in JULY !!! that's 6 months-you could walk round the UK and deliver every one by hand in that time

SEPT 23rd-on the DOC Ade stated the database was fixed with another week to tie up the loose ends

OCT 10th-Discussion started on the club forum titled DOC ,On the 13th Oct on that thread I offered to post all the mags out at my own cost to all the members within 24 hrs if we had a up to date members list and was told it was under control

OCT 20th- Same discussion Nic (Nic Chick,treasurer an also prints the mags) stated he had received some members details and labels and mags were being sent out.

Following Adrians reply to my initial post thought I would contact Nick ( Nick Chick club treasurer and printer of the magazine) myself

He answered his mobile 3rd ring so no communication issues there !

His reply was-he has the mags-he sends them out when he gets labels/details from the mems sec and so far he has had the details for about 100 people whom he has sent mags to

SO 300 ISH MEMBERS HAVENT HAD A MAGAZINE !

We either have a working database and the details of people who are members and should have a magazine or we don't ??? its a simple yes or no

If its yes SEND THE DETAILS TO NIC !!!

Or if we want to do it differently and the mems sec post them out just say and we can get them to you

Lets just bloody do it we have the magazines and the members it cant be that hard to get the two together-can it ???

this is the subject of a round robin email with the committee members right now....

it is the heart of the reason why i tried to give notice earlier this year.

it is so utterly frustrating in trying to deal with it. unbelievably frustrating........

p.s. i was an ardent supporter of Nick last year.....

this year he would not receive my vote.

you can draw from that what ever conclusions you like but i can assure you the problem is not so simply resolved as Nick would like you to think, neither is he the savour that he likes to portray.

yeah i know dirty washing in public and all (a private comment just received, and yes in hind sight i could have done it better)  and i do understand.....but sometimes you have to shove the stick into hornets nest to get anything done........and diplomacy just is not working.

oh and i have just looked into posting the file for DT online and TBH i am at a loss on how to "host" it so you lot can read it.....its a 15mb file in "open office format"

Can you not save it as PDF and post to Google drive then just share the link?

Dropbox or google drive, accessed through the members pages on the website or just as a download from the DOC website.
