hello. i got these chrome wheels with my sierra. i like them chrome and would like to keep them that way, the problem is the lacquer is peeling off them. easy to get off in places. but stuck in others. does anyone know of anything i could use to remove the old lacquer with out damaging the chrome. many thanks :-))))

I use a commercial paint stripper.  Nitromorse will work but take a little longer, use a paint brush to work it in and agitate it, then wash off. Providing the chrome is good and solid ...... Happy Days.  

thanks paul. ill give it a go. if all goes wrong i can allways spray then. :-)

Once you try the commercial paint stripper, if you have some spots of the lacquer left on you may want to try spraying with a clear coat to help even it out.

I used this stuff LINK which even makes powder coat soft enough to peel off. £10 ish per litre  - enough to do four wheels easily.

Not long get back from Derby so will try and sort it either before it gets dark or first thing.

ade no rush honestly ...one day in the next month is fine. pleanty of stuff to get done yet :-))
