Unfortunately I was sitting on a gas platform off Humberside while this was going on, but Steve and another of the guys from the club took it out for a play, seeing as we were specifically invited.

The Mk2 nearest left (blue stripe) is one of the guys I compete against in the Rally Time Trials. It's a well sorted (but not ridiculous lottery spec) car with a Vauxhall 16V, and he can really bloody drive the thing! Not sure on the other Mk2 but it looks like it's had a few quid spent on it!

Seems to me yours is the only reasonably priced car out there Roy. :) Although there are a couple of hatchbacks to your right before the Rover and the mini down this end, their not going to be 'budget' cars underneath are they.

So, did you get a chance to do a timed lap?

The Micra's a stage rally car and us probably worth six of what I paid for the Dutton! Ha ha!

We got an invite from Go Motorsport (who basically promote motor racing and try to make grass roots stuff accessible) to bring a couple of cars along to this thing called Speedfest, and do a couple of demonstration Autotest runs while the other main attractions like drift cars, stunt displays and pursuits were having their lunch break! I wasn't around but apparently it went down fairly well!

Is it the Micra? Only kidding! That is an interesting line-up, surely that old Jag didn't race? How did you get in amongst that lot?
