140''s on the rear would be about right....... I have 150's .

Burtonpower and eEuropeand rally design all sell springs of varying lengths and id 's.

I've got some 180's but don't know the unsprung length off the top of my head. If they are the same size do you want to swap?

They are spax adjustable's in there Ade, and are fully un done. The rate of the original springs I have put back is too high for the weight of the car, so there is little or no sag and the car sits higher than I would like. The springs I have just removed which allowed the car to sit better are rated at 140lbs, but squatted down under hard acceleration, so its now a matter of getting the right combo. There is probably some complicated maths calculation for weight, power, torque etc, but thats way above my pay grade, so for the time being its trial and error ;-))

Paul, could you fit height adjustables in the space that the current shocks and springs live in?

Where do you buy springs from Dave?

I keep looking at it and thinking, its not the size of the gap so much. Its more the fact that the wheel arches look un finished, as if they have just been cut down.

Paul....springs are really cheap to buy, and cutting down stiff springs will reduce the height but also increase the spring rate proportional to the number of coils removed.

i have some rubber strip on the boot opening....the lid sits down very firmly onto it, it should be nice and dry as well.

my new transmission tunnel allows me to mount my handbrake in a comfortable easy to get to position, that also clears the diff.......it is mounted at an angle across the transmission tunnel (to parallel the diff ) and even then its tight.

I have a small flange

I also have a small prop end and prop  - all can be made spare if you want them.

To be fair to the fuel pump ... it is 18 inches from your ear...

Before you cut the springs - are they 2.25 or 1.9 's ? I have some 2.25's in various lengths too...

@ Ade, no, to move the handbrake means ripping the carpet out and remodeling.  Shortening the springs will work, just have to be careful not to take too much off. If it doesnt, I will go down the small flange route.  I will leave as is for the moment, until its gone through the mot anyway.   Got to do something with the boot lid, it rattles is nuts off on tickover ......... and the fuel pump sounds like there is a demented Hornet living in the boot PMSL.  But I am just being picky.    Cant wait to get it up against one of my daughters Astra,s for acceleration tests.
