Hello friends,
Here you can read in as far Dutton was also involved in the construction of Eagel.
Nice greatings from Wolfgang
Tom
Well, irrespective of who designed the original Eagle SS I like the headlight modifications, in fact I still like the Eagle SS full stop. I do seem to remember the Pinto powered one having a rather ugly bulge in the bonnet to fit the pinto under which did spoil the lines a bit. I do like this one though. and those wheel spacers lying on the floor, obviously for the rear end, are HUGE but look like they will do a proper job of putting the wheels where they were supposed to be near the edge of the wheel arch.
@Tom; are you doing the bodywork on this too?
Glad to see you've stopped typing for the hard of hearing Steve.
The exact story I do not know personally.
Tim Dutton said to have been involved in the design.
The Eagel has a tubular frame and the engine forward.
Rigid rear axle.
Nope, the Eagle SS is a kit in its own right, offered with a choice of pinto (front engine, rear wheel drive) or VW (rear engine, rear wheel drive) power, I very nearly bought one 20years ago but ended up with a Mustang :-) Nova and Eagle were both available at the same time if my memory serves correctly.
I don't recall Eagle cars and Tim Dutton ever being associated but I can ask Tim as he is sure to be at stoneleigh.
Hi Adrian,
Tim Dutton has been involved in the construction of Eagle. Therefore Dutton.
The engine comes from a 2L V-engine Maserati Bi Turbo.
Some pictures are below under Dutton-Eagel-Maserati
