These are the standard ford options as I remember them.
Crossflow escort
Pinto escort (RS 2000)
Capri brackets with RS rubbers
There are visible differences between the crossflow bracket, rs bracket and capri bracket.
All of them are unequal length pairs. I haven't tried to track down dimensions. Escort crossflow rubbers are bonded to the mount but all the others bolt on.
Different depths of rubber are available by using other manufacturers mountings.
Paul's design works well on all the sports models with no ford cross member and the Sierra alloy mounts work the same way. Both will need new chassis brackets.
On the crossmember, there is a chalk Mark, that's how much I need to chop out to use these RS mounts I have.
Easy to make a new one out of steel plate and a bit of scaffold tube or box section.
steve ....you need to fabricate some new engine mounts.....it would be easy for a man of your calibre......
can take more pics if you need steve...?
interesting to see your mounts the opposite way Brian, mine would pull the engine forward but the sump would foul the crossmember. I might chop the mounts, set the engine up right and use the doughnuts I have here or go for landie ones. I could actually bolt them together as they are, no rubbers, they are so close and the holes line up !!
whats the other side like steve....
