Steady on Steve  ;-)   I dont think anyone is being negative, just joining in with the conversation. If people stop joining in, then it will become just another dead site, and we dont want that.......... means I'd have to start buying daily papers again :-))

Well once again thanks for all the negative vibes. There's those who do and those that can't. I don't think I'll bother putting the things I do on here. Just to point you negative people in the right direction, the brake servo is going in the passenger foot well. I plan to remove the water pump and the casing, saving 6". Then blank it off and run an electric pump, as many do nowadays. Independent rear axle from a Sierra with LSD, already sourced and measured. Being hands on means I can do it, unlike some.

BV: just for the length - its about 4" shorter. With the Rover then it looks like Steve'll have to modify the front like Ford did on the early Transits when they fitted the diesel engines. Nick Carlin has an Essex V6 Dutton Sierra. I weighed my Essex at 194Kg without the alternator, so quite a bit heavier than the Rover, but it fits.

Why on earth use a tug boat engine James, the Rover V8 is a dog but it does have more power/torque and is lighter.

I think that an Essex V6 would be a better fit as it is quite a bit shorter.

I'm not sure that you need a servo, I haven't got on in my Rickman and I haven't noticed a lack of stopping power.

Have I got some posts missing ??   ..... last I saw was a Pinto residing in that spot.  As Daryl says!! its about time you followed the right path.

Yeah, I've got a couple laying around, could do with a clean up. Brake pipes are in the way of the new column so may go for twin cylinder, just happen to have that hanging around too :-))
