Not at all dave. And you know it.....
The rules are clear, I work within them you seem determined to do what you want even if you dont have support by the official channels. The question of pdfs was discussed and rejected.
With out a viable club data base there is no mailing list....snail mail or electronic. in stead of stiring it on a forum you alone controll why not come up with a viable solution?

So what you're really saying here is nothing can be discussed in open forum unless you agree with it, and change:-) will only happen once a year if 20 members agree.
The DOC is for it's member's and the committee have their positions because we members allow you to be there.
You Dave, are the only mouth piece the inner committee seem to have. It sounds a bit like "it's my ball and I don't want to play"
Even the the other committee members seemed baffled with what's going on.

James, I like a magazine in hard copy, but also see the benefit of a PDF version. If the the draft for the print is set up right it is a key press operation to convert this to PDF with a small file size, this could be loaded on the members pages, so not available to the general browser.

The vote slip was included after the proposal had already been voted down.......as a concession to a fundamental rule change.
You do have a vote......come to the AGM and use it ........to have proxy / postal vote dont work on issues that are not resolved untill the agm.
I would support postal voting as a member and committee member only if the vote is greater than 50% of all paid up members and not just a majority of those bothered to vote.

I think that there is something a bit special about getting a real magazine. If we just had an online pdf then is it really different from just having an official website with user pages on it? Call me old-fashioned if you like, but if it is not too difficult I prefer the excitement of receiving my DT unexpectedly through the post.

Surly all paid up member are entitled to a vote, I for one feel just because I can,t attend the AGM I should not be able to have a say . If all members that do not attend the AGM decided to leave the club then the club would suffer the loss of revenue and become a very small club. Why sould a handfull of members decide. If you can put a vote slip in this mag then if there is any big items that needs to be put to our members it can be done in this way. PDF ok with me. Rant over

What committee of three? There is no committee of three......

On another note........if every decision taken by the committee has to be voted on why bother with the AGM at all.....or for that matter the committee?

There is Another aspect to this.......the cost of printing and posting 200 DT' would be very close to the 450 we get done now.......
There would not be a significant saving so why do it? So a few members get their copys a few days eaier? To save thdi club money ? Why and what for? £12 a year is not much if all you get is PDF copys it might as well be free. I would be happy to pay it just for the hard copys we do get.

Whilst I have sympathy with your views it has been strongly represented to myself that such decisions are best left to the AGM and if folks choose for what ever reason not to attend they have to live with its decisions. I am also firmly In this camp. Personally I am not in favour of wholly PDF publishing. Though putting it online does not in principle seem a bad idea for those it suits. it would not be for me though. I want and very much prefer a printed copy and will detend it continuing.
Neither would it be true that most of the club would vote for online publishing the overwhelming feed back I get as editor is to keep DT as it is.
