Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Found the idle problem, accelerator diaphgram had a hole in, and the idle diaphgram is also a bit tired, so changed them. It had was the wrong size accelerator diaphgram fitted, so fitting the right one as got rid of the flat spot on accelerating.

I also found that the heater fan as a broken wire, which can't be fixed without taking the dash out first, and that's not going to happen ( Steve stop laughing).

But just to make up for that, looking through the bits box I found some chrome dash switch washers with the words on and off impressed into them, these are now fitted. Even found some new pedal rubber's on ebay £2.85 a pair...

That it for now...

Brighter than I thought they would be, I had only seen them in the day light till now, but your post made me go out and see, it's not the best photo, but I am impressed. there's only 5 LED's in the middle all the rest is a reflector, Hope the men in blue don't see the reflector on the reverse lamp showing white to the rear. Durite part no 0-179-65 Red and 0-170-60

Took the plunge, and bought the rear Fog and Reverse LED lights to replace the old dangly one. Tidies up the back end.
Was worried about using LED's but having gone to the OPSI website there is no regulation to size or brightness only that they can't be less than 100 mm from a brake light.

Afraid not it is the wire that goes to the brush gear, I have thought about cutting the top vent wider, or even cutting straight across in a way so I can make it removeable. perhaps even on a hinge. In fact that's the plan for next week.

Glad to hear Pat will be getting a new door lock, and the car is running well. I was tempted for a late run today after putting the carb back on. May try again in the morning, before we go to watch Wigan play somemore glorious rugby.
