Anyone got a photo of the mk1 Escort pedal box in situ in a dutton? I want to see where the column runs. By the looks of things the master cylinder sits lower down on these than the Triumph pedal box so may sort the problem I have of the master cylinder fowling the inlet manifold

both of mine have been re-engineered to have the column between clutch and brake, as high as it will go between the pedals without fouling. I used a cut down broom handle to get the position right before re-drilling the floor / bulkhead. This might not work for you as the column in a phaeton could have to be at a completely different angle. This is the way I did both the legerra and Sierra and it doesn't foul the pedals arms.

Get the broom handle in the column bracket so its in a straight line with your seat. mark a vertical line on the bulkhead.

fit the pedals to the box without all the springs and 'stuff' so the pedals go flat to the floor/bulkhead, with the line central between the two pedals and the pedals at a comfy height when raised. Mark the location holes and them remove and disassemble pedal box. Fit the pedal box back under the dash and mark all the other holes that will need cutting. Drill two locator bolt holes, reassemble box and pedals, bolt up and refit broomstick so it doesnt foul the arms, mark landing spot and drill holes for column.
