Fuel pump are noisy, is yours mounted on rubber mounts, amazing the difference it makes.

From memory the Sierra efi was a bosch pump which will be a 5 bar pump regulated by the fuel pressure regulator

cheers bv. steve. yes its mounted in a rubber sleeve. im sure its packing in. its so noisy you can here it over the engine

I'm pretty sure that the regulator is set to 2.5 bar, so anything more than this could do at low power. It has to be able to maintain that pressure at a flow of 40 litres/hr, which is what the Pinto can use at full power. The ebay one is 130 litre/hr with no resistance (wide open outlet) so I don't know that it would do 40 litres/hr at 2.5 bar.

so higher is ok but under 2.5 is no good ????

That looks good. It doesn't state the flow but they list a whole load of more powerful engines, plus most of those operate at 3 bar. The Ford systems were in a minority for using 2.5bar.

ill get that then james cheers. its 6.5 bar

My one has a normal run pressure of 3bar but can make 8bar, as long as the pressure regulator is working it will always remain constant at 3.2 bar.

Beware of fuel leaks Brian. With that much pressure above and beyond what its been built for.
