Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

some pics of the rebuild process,

the top trailing arm bracket is broke......

the diff is sloping back a little (looking up) so that will need sorting.......

As you can see there isn't a lot of bracing in an S1 chassis, that will be sorted.

Yeah....that would be 0.75 degrees negative camber....oops......my front suspension is quite stiff.......it's trial and error for a while.

Too much neg camber James. Trying to measure roll based on a photograph is not very accurate, you'll have tyre deflection which will appear to look like roll from an outside view.

Well the car is insured from Saturday this next week... (14/1/17) but it's still not quite there.......roof needs securing at the front and the doors need a strap to secure them shut.

It'll be a few weeks after I get the MOT before its done fully.....

20 mins. are you sure Dave? that's nearly 1/2 hour in old money. :-))

Been saying for months that the week I put my car on the road it'll snow......

So I guess you can blame me for the weather this weekend.......

Would make for a great picture though Dave. Wheel it out of the garage into some nice fresh snow with no foot prints to get the picture, even better if you have some lighting to throw on it.

I used to have a picture of my green phaeton with about 10" of snow on it........drove really well.....except the spoiler acted like a snow plough...

It started at 1.5degrees negative . ...

But my front springs are very stiff (250lb/in)....... rather than change them straight away I am gong to see how the car goes. besides my sump is a little low at about 3.75 inch from the road.

I need to modify my sump pan.....sometime.

need an Ark down here today, never seen rain like it in recent years. If it turns to snow, chaos !

Will this do?

Well it passed it's MOT today......

Unfortunately another customer hit my car pulling out of her parking bay.....

No serious damage just a bit of paint and a bent bonnet hinge bracket.... all repairable .

Well done with getting it through the MOT after such a rebuild and without the opportunity for a proper shake down. I'm very impressed! But what rotten luck in the car park. There is no excuse for not seeing such a bright car - even an ambulance driver should be able to see it.
