Have a pair of spotlights on Sierra, just wondered if it was within the law to wire them up to the headlight main beam? Any thoughts on this guys?

You're ok with driving/spots on the main beam. They must be turned off so as not to blind on coming trafic so If you wired them to come on only with main beam that'd be Ok just be careful they're not mounted too low or too high. Also wire them through a separate circuit with relay and trigger the relay from the main beam or you'll have no light switch left.......
this is what the law says on the subject....

Crickey Dave, thats an old one. Long been superceeded I think you'll find. That suggests no limit to the number of MB lights but I know for sure its a minimum of two MB and a maximum of four. has been for nearly ten years. Also there are minimum and maximum heights. GTM driving lights are too low and they new they were wrong when they designed it ! Have converted mine to fogs nowso I'm ok same is true of the my phaeton S4 where I'll just be deleting the drivinglights.
They are the same size 7inch i think, as the head lamps and are positioned next to the inside of each h/lamp but a little bit higher due to the brackets,so i hope they are not too high.
I assume this limit only applies to cars then as most Artic' lorries have at least one set of roof lights and they are well over that. Don't know why I'm asking you lot... my mrs is a trainee VOSA vehicle examiner...Snowies worst nightmare :-)
Oh... just a thought for Dave Taylor, best pull the fuse on those rabbit lamps on the Sierra before the MOT...
