Wanting to buff the gel coat but some polishes can be bad, what experiences have you had?

I have used Halfords G3 scratch remover on a buffer to reduce the oxidising / bleaching effect followed by coloured T-Cut also on the buffer. Use plenty of water with both to prevent burning, usually from a plant sprayer.

My Legerra body is quite bad though as it got covered in volcanic ash residue a few years ago and is very blotchy. This only seems to last a couple of weeks though and the patches come back, eventually I will have to paint it before I polish all the gelcoat off.

G3 to cut through the worst, then G10 all over followed by glaze. Some autoglym products like super resin polish have UV inhibiters which help to slow down the return of the milky bloom.
