b type hoods are i believe different to other Duttons because the screen is lower and the cockpit shorter.....could be wrong, but i think that is correct...........

Was on yesterday but the guy mucked up and put it on a 3 day listing by mistake
Mailed him and told him the car wasn't what he said,he cancelled the add and ran it as a 7 day but has decided to keep the wrong details in add
Hi rob
Can you explain to me the wrong details
Thanks john
His original add had four pictures I asked if I could have more pics, especially of the rear end as from one of the original pics you could just glimpse what I thought was a bit of leaf spring
That and the s2 boot lid and s2 dash lead me to believe its was a s2' with a B plus bonnet
So the fact The add calls it a b type is pretty wrong
Later add with rear spring hanger shot pretty much confirms it
Did say to him that if the v5 has the chassis number prefix that would pretty much confirm it
B-300 ish to about 750. Or
P-1500-2000 ish range but he never got back to me
If I knew,I wouldn't be asking the question. Only a fool knows everything, the quest for increased knowledge, shows a desire to reach the levels attained by those who deem themselves enthusiasts
And you wonder why I refused to renew my membership of the doc this year, after receiving absolutely jack shxxt the whole year. Then walking away from the agm,as I knew it would end up the same as the previous year, playground squabble, toys thrown out of the pram etc etc.
If you can't ask a direct question on here, what's the point?

Know the feeling John :(  I too, abandoned the club a while ago

FWIW I thought you asked a perfectly reasonable question and didn't deserve such bully boy treatment

Thanks Rob

No need to shout Daryl,

I didn't say your opinion had anything to do with the DOC, please read what I wrote not what you think I wrote!

I was sypathising with John's position Re: the DOC as I too have left the club as you well know.

What John had asked was a perfectly reasonable question - "What hood fits a b type, and does anyone have one" your answer "You would know if you were an enthusiast" was hardly reasonable or helpful.

This attitude is driving enthusiasts such as John and myself away from the Dutton communtity whether in the DOC or not.

Your statement "Better than shipping everything out of the country  just to leave crap  here" Eurpean's value Duttons much more highly than those in the UK especially it would seem those in the UK Dutton community! I've seen mint Duttons in Holland for sale at 12000euro's where the same car here would struggle to make £1200. Whats left gets broken by the classis car breakers. Well Duh! If the UK Dutton community wont to pay what its worth thats whats gonna happen - get over it :(

Martin,thanks
A proper level headed approach, a saved cherished dutton in France,Germany or wherever, is better than one scrapped and a nicked id.myself and my partner have sold a few to French folks, and their out every weekend, with there English classic car friends ,throughout France, showing off their duttons to all and sundry

To those small minded members of the UK Dutton community, it seems you still haven't figured out the bleedin' obvious yet, which is the value of Duttons and other kit cars from that era is no longer in the uk and hasn't been for at least the last decade. Those in Europe, who are not alllowed to build kit cars, value british kit cars far more highly than we do in the UK. Maybe if we were no longer allowed to build then we would also value them much more highly. Many DOC members and genuine Dutton enthusists have sold their cars overseas to get a price they deserved as in the UK people only want to pay scrap value as evidenced with many of the posts on this very site! As Martin says a Dutton saved where ever in the world it may end up is a Dutton that has not been confined to landfil.

I do not agree with bullying whether on social media or other areas, just because John is not an enthusiast in the way you believe all who are interested in Duttons should be is no reason to take such an attitude.

I have a B+ with an S1 hood and  S1 sidescreens. The S1 hood fits really well and it fits my mates  B type, I have just tried it. Your welcome to try it John.
