Seeing as Toms camber modification has captured our interest, I thought that I would look into making a new pair of top wishbones, with an adjustable ball joint.
So I ordered a pair of camber adjusters from Rally Desighn,
these consist of an internally threaded tube with a hexagonal on one end and a threaded ball joint. The tube passes through another tube welded into the wishbone, into which the ball joint threads and is secured in place by the lock nut. With the lock nut released the threaded tube can be rotated to adjust the camber, with out removing the ball joint....... Simples
BUT !!! unfortunately, the taper on the ball joint is different from the Spitfire upright. Doh!
I have calculated that the taper on the Spitfire joint is 8 degrees and the taper on the Transit joint is slightly larger and 10 degrees. There is plenty of material on the upright to be able to reamer out the taper........if only I can find a 10 degree reamer. Any one got one?
