Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Bit the bullet today and decide to SORN Daisy Dutton, I had put off all the jobs from last year after damaging my knee and as the Tax and MOT are both due this week, I thought maybe a good time to get on with the TLC. New coat of paint, a few mechanical jobs to be done, new set of rubber and a new Hood on the cards too.

Me and the apprentice sent the weekend re-flagging the back garden (OMG has you get older paving flags seem to get heavier) 30 flags laid, new lawn on order. Then the work can begin. I was going to buy a new shed, then tonight my next door neighbour gave me has shed for nought, only 2 years old used to store his motorbike which he sold earlier in the year. Result.

That's GOD's shed you're looking at mate, I still have to move the freeby.

Nice one Dave, reckon you could get two in there...

It left home earlier in the month. It now lives in Cumbria on a seasonal pitch with winter storage. Think we'll use it more.

Awesome roads all over the west coast of Cumbria. but that will be next spring now jobs to do over the next few months.

Work started in the mod's Picked up a steering wheel boss for a Capri at Chalmondley yesterday, Steering wheel and the boss needed a bit of drilling and grinding to fit together. It moves the wheel about 60mm closer so stops me having to stretch anymore. Also stripped the pin stripes and the rubber rear arch protectors, these will be replaced with shiney stainless panels.

Today I have mainly been painting Daisy Dutton, yellow done. Rest of the day spent finishing and masking up ready for BRG coat.

We had wall to wall sun today (I know, hard to believe) if I'd had a few more hours I could have laid down a few coats of green. but once the sun starts getting low too much moisture in the air
