DuttonOwners

Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Until the DOC gets a website that works, then this Category may help in keeping it all under one thread. But keep it Club and don't go off topic.

Thanks James for the suggestion.

See it works, now keep it that way I don't want to come down there...

Sir, As you say SIR,  Permision to speak  SIR .

Let's not go there, you try and help and you just get insults. I like the SIR bit though, it's about time you sartherners showed respect. NOW get off the couch and finish your cars

Club business

Can someone explain to me why is it that i as a member of the public can go on line and buy things like gear knobs and wheel caps with the Dutton logo , but  what i take as being the official owners club can not , or has chosen to not  do so, i find it strange.

I understand that in the past there was a falling out with Tim Dutton, but on the face of things, that rift has healled  now  so is there any reason why we, as a club can not use the Dutton logo on some items  such as gear knobs, wheel centres etc.

I don't know the answer Martin but I will ask Derek, the club chairman if he knows who is selling them as I don't think it's TWD.

I've emailed your query to the whole committee... sniggers... I have also reminded them that you volunteered to take the position of regalia officer on the committee but that I havent heard an answer...

there on ebay, and have been for some time  its not TW, because they do all makes

So no one is mislead by my new title SIR, it means Sitting In a Runner.

SIRLOIN - Sitting In a Road Legal One Is Nice

Now here a snippet of info, The Northern Duttoneers Summer Show is at Hoghton Tower which is where it is said King James 1 knighted his loin of beef after enjoying his meal "SirLoin"

Dave, stop insulting the doc website :-) It does work, in fact it does exactly what it says on the tin with no bells or whistles.

I think the issue is mainly with style and content.

I know you submitted the 'daisy' rebuild story ages ago and its one of the few items added in the past 10 years.

If people want to see their cars stories on the club website then I will happily help but the main one to send them to is the webmaster@duttonownersclub.co.uk

Like the club mag, the website content is entirely down to submission of information, John's not a mind reader and if you don't send it in he can't publish it on the site.

I've been looking at the site this morning and making a few additions/alterations/updates on the members section if anybody wants to look, its not much to see just the legerra build manual as a download and some updating on the related pages. It all takes time though.

Ade, why is it then that most  of us prefer to post on here,  i look at the site from time to time and whilst its got the info, its not recent up todate stuff that you get on here.   I tend to stick to the melos related stuff  but its a good 5 years + old .  there has to be a reason for it,  what is it that made people give up on it and migrate to this site?

I think that is mainly down to public access. You can post what you like on here, stuff for the DOC website has to be submitted and organised before it can be uploaded. We've talked about making part of the site public access but its not easy with the delicate nature of the software used to write it. It also opens up all sorts of security issues if anybody can upload pictures they can upload anything leaving the site open to attack.

Mr G's site allows for public upload, is well organised and simple to follow. I used it for the re-build diary on the Sierra and will be doing the same for the legerra if I get the time to take photo's.

People haven't given up on any of the sites, they all get used but for different things.
