Car is OK,  the bonnet is off so I landed part on the NSF wheel, part on the upper wishbone and some tools and a diff that were on the floor.  Ribs hit the wheel and below  hit the upper wishbone., bum landed on the spare diff and tools, foot was tangled in the ladder.  Basic I over stretched from the top rung of the ladder and slipped.  Ripped my coat as I passed a light fitting on the way down.

I'm glad to hear that you are not seriously hurt, that could have been very different.

Seriously Dave.... you ok mate?

Now the important part.. were you doing 'car' or 'domestic' duties? If it was 'car' then you'll be in trouble. If it was domestic duties then should be good for tea and sympathy at least...

Ade.  Domestic duties, I was getting a car cover out the garage loft to put on my wife's car ahead of the frost.  Cover is normally just inside the hatch so don't need the ladder extending.  But, last week I moved the cover further way.  So I was stood on the top rung using my phone as a torch in one hand and reaching out with the other hand.  Ladder slipped, down I came.  There is sympathy so OK.  Ribs and foot still hurt like mad, might go to A&E today - yes should have gone yesterday as the hospital is only 5 mins from my house. But instead I decided it was more important to finish installing some LED floodlights as there had been a series of break-ins in the area.  Ribs were hurting a lot when I was trying strip cables, and the foot throbbing all the time.  All I could think about as I was falling was, I hope I don't land on that silly projecting steel lug that is for a spare wheel on the S2, that would have been bad news

Been A&E, they said bruised and strained.

I should know better. In my day job of construction I am constantly telling people to work safely off ladders. So of course everybody had a good laugh at work today
