How we used to set up the rally cars, cheap to make and handy on a test day. I have another jig that locates on the top and bottom edges of the wheel rim and holds an inclinometer handy for making camber changes.
If its anything like the laser levels I had recently then your tracking could end up just about anywhere.
The cheap DIY ones seem to be able to bend light :-0
THB strings or tapes can be very effective and are several thousand pounds cheaper than a laser alignment rig
Given that the Alfa site wants £65 for the ally plates to make the tracking tool this device looks to be a better bet....
