Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Got my insurance renewal on 1st December. Anyone else getting stupid prices this year?

Car is a 2003 Hyundai Coupe 2.0, i'm 29 (30 in a couple of months) 6 years ncb, 3 points for CU80 (using phone) a couple of years ago, business use, 17k miles a year, parked on road outside my house

Have tried, Chaucer my current insurer, money supermarket, confused, compare the market, adrian flux, direct line, tesco and the cheapest quote tpft with protected ncb is £840! wtf! Adrian flux and Directline came back with £1300

I think it must be a bad combination of variables, I was expecting something like £500

My Son has just renewed his policy on a 2003 Mini Cooper S and is 22 with 5 years no claims, Adrian Flux wanted 1300 quid. We went with Admiral on a multi car policy and got it down to 850 odd. His is the only car on it at the moment, we had to agree to put my wifes car on the policy when it comes up for renewal in March, they have given us a quote for next year that is a few quid cheaper than we are paying at the moment. Win Win  :-)

Going to try adding one of my parents as an additional driver and see what difference it makes, on a previous policy for my Passat when I added the missus of the time it knocked £100 odd quid off even though she only had a provisional!

I got quoted for wifes 1.0l hyundai 300+quid! But phaeton or sierra still about 100 quid.
