Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

A few duttons I have came with a plate between the chassis and arb bush and some haven't. I have put the plate in and it compresses the bush a lot more now and turning is more positive.
You can see how one of the brackets holes have elongated without the plate fitted although it was done up tight.

Been digging down at my other compound and found that the 3 litre Capri and the 1600e has those pieces fitted as standard. Couldn't get them off today, but once I get to breaking them I will save them. I have also looked under my Sierra and slotted in this piece of 5mm. flat. Will see how it compares tomorrow when I take it out again.

I'd be sure they were made after, never seen these on any other dutton.

The plates I put on have been recessed to account for the weld and shaped to take the arb bush on the other side. Not sure if it was a dutton part or purpose made.
I found my black s3 wondering until I fitted these alot more positive now.

funny enough, that little 1300 is a screamer. I would love it in a small Locost or B type.

I thought it was the crossflow power, twisting things out of shape as the red line approached :-))))

My poly bushes are squashed of shape. Noticed that the studs welded to the chassis have monster weld, so I may just make a spacer, mine looks like I need 5mm. plate shoved in there to miss/clear the weld, wonder if this has been this strange loose effect I get on the steering. It all feels tight, but under movement something has always felt wrong.

That's an interesting find, my Sierra has not got them, it will soon :-)
