I beleive it was exported pre-computerisation so does not show up on any of the sources we use for checking cars.

As you probably know the last letter "L" on your plate shows a 1972 registration since Dutton didnt make the phaeton s1 then its likely the registration of the donor car.

How do your local police view the car? Do you get stopped often to check its all legal?
Adrian (on here) may have you reg on thd club database (as might daryl.....) if there is anything I am sure thdy will let you know.

if you know the original licence plates number for the car (UK plates....) it may be possible to trace the owner....or at least give you what history the club possesses ......

In the UK a cars licence plates are usually fixed for its life even if it is sold on to a new owner.

I love the front fenders on this car. Whoever built it put in a lot of time and effort in to it and there is absolutely no marks to indicate they were not the original fenders. They are quite large and driving around 60 mph the front end gets quite light. I am assuming that's why he added the louvers to them. I would love to know who built the old girl.
