Imperial steering arms and imperial threads in struts, probably why I never used them.

And, rubber brushed.

Bet you haven't got a spare track rod end to test the taper on those steering arms, find out if they are imperial or metric. To be honest I don't know if they made metric 'separate steering arm' versions as those are the ones that need 'green' track rod ends if I remember correctly.

I will probably have a 'spare' set of top cups to fit small diameter inserts, scabby but serviceable, just need blasting and painting. The shocks in my spare legs are beyond redemption (ones bent, the other won't release from the strut top even with a 3 leg puller and WD40) I'm hoping the inserts from the broken struts will fit straight into the salvaged leg casings so the only thing i'll need are said 'green' track rod ends to fit my metric mk2 rack. The tops you found, do they have bearings or just the rubber top bush?

I've just found the steering arms, brand new springs and top bearings, but, no top spring plates. They are here, somewhere, unless the spiders have had 'um, I found a few of them !

Yup, those two 'ears' are for the caliper and there will be two holes that the steering arm bolts onto on the back (or two studs)

The other critical factor is the diameter of the taper shaft at the top of the piston as there are two sizes.

I have a set of large diameter tops so can give you both diameters a bit later on after going back to the unit.

I don't know if they are mk1 or mk2 though, so many permutations

Leave it with me for a bit and i'll get some pictures and measurements from the car and the old pair I can't use.
