Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

The rear suspension looks a little high to me but it is 40mm higher on the other side where the spring has been replaced. I expect that it'll be a bit lower when I'm on board though.

This style was fitted to Sierra and Orion but they wern't the same.

Ford Sierra wheels are 35 - 37mm et depending on width - Orion would be 37 - 41mm FHE41 would make them Orion wheels

Front wheels should havne roughly the same clearence between top of tyre and wheel arch front and rear.

They are 14" with 185/60R14 tyres. The wheel has a marking "5 1/2Jx14FHE41" on it. I measured the mounting surface as being about 40mm out from the centre of the tyre. The car has 1 1/4" spacers and the tyres are only a few millimetres from the chassis rails at the back. The front wheels rub the frame on lock and they have worn the underside of the wing by the light, so I think Big Vern & Dave are right about the front height.

Ahha... bang on Pete. I have been chewing this over all day and Sierra was the only thing that came to mind with that type of pepperpot design but now you have said orion it all makes sense.

They may be the Orion 14" ones, so could be fwd offset

On my phone i thought they looked like fiesta wheels.....even so 35-8mm off set is still quite a lot.

Those rims are Sierra, 35 - 38mm offset, 14 inch rims?

Yeah front looks a bit low....also those FWD wheels are not right for a Dutton you will likely have large wheel spacers on the car. not ideal if so.

Think you'll find its the front that's low. The back looks normal for a Melos. Explains why your engine is 'poking out' of the bonnet.
