thanks for your comments. adrian i think the black is ok. im in no rush waiting untill car comes off road in oct-nov. id try the sandpaper/steel wool. but im pretty shure the alloy will be pitted underneath...:-(
Be patient and I'll see what I can do in the near future. If mine turn out ok i'll do them for you at mates rates.
Is the black powder coat peeling too or just the clear?
I just followed young lad in his Honda, huge offset wheels, stretched rubber and very low, intend to badger him tomorrow that them wheels need to be on my Dutton. Very shiny, I like shiny :-)
I used wet and dry, then painted them then wet and dry with metal polish, and I got good result, took ages though. My mate bead blasted his or soda blast I think. Looked good to.
You might want to give steel wool a try instead of sand paper.
