The thickness is 0.9mm and I used a die grinder with a 1mm cut off wheel. The metal came from a company in Nottingham.  http://metaloffcuts.co.uk/shop/

Yep all nice and shiny beneath the protective film, and No, there is no return edges for rivets. All the paint will pull off before the CT1 lets go, that stuff is so sticky, you can even apply it under water, and once it cures, that's that!! 

But there will be a few safe guards, by way of two bonnet catches and two small catches on the rear of the front wheel arches, all secured through to the chassis side rails.
