I have been asked by Ian At CKC to provide him with some photos of dutton phaetons  especially the V6 + V 8 versions as well as "normal"  cars........he also wants some pictures of "rough" cars all for an article for Aprils edition......

In my experience and opinion any sort of coverage is good. If of course its singing the praises then that’s better.

I would love to see the brand of Dutton up there with Caterham Westfield etc. I think the best way is through showing the cars and getting them into mags. When was a Dutton the feature car in a kit car mag????? What about Paul S Phaeton? All the pics Paul has posted has shown excellent workmanship which I think we would all be proud of. Can Ian (either or both) be persuaded to do a feature??

Since this is my post.....yesterday I bumped into an ex melos owner from Lincolnshire name of martin who had a q plate blue melos with the melos name down the sides. Says his car is still in use....peterborough I think he said..

My fault John, I thought it was for Ian Stent at Complete Kit Car, but it wasn't it is for Iain Ayre for (as he calls it) a Seneor kit car mag.

Hi Dave and everyone else,

 

many thanks for your pics. There seems to have been an element of confusion, this is for the Senior kit car mag rather than either of the junior ones. It’s the lesser kitcar writer Ians who only have one i. Oh yes, we’re still bitching but only for fun these days.

 

I have been supportive rather than abusive about Duttons, and have warned of dire consequences of nicking Dutton IDs in the hope of discouraging any more scrapping. 

 

Maybe see y’all at Llandow some day if I’m in the UK at the right time.
