DuttonOwners

Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Define what we as the DOC are about...

Just what are we trying to achieve here and on the other Dutton sites?

Do we wish to only preserve Duttons as they left the factory?

are we looking to use and modify our cars to suit the modern road conditions?

are we looking to find new ways of solving old problems or are we looking to keep a supply of classic parts to maintain the cars as they were built?

Are we going to discourage modifying of the cars bodywork?

what modifications are acceptable, if any?

Are we looking to keep Duttons as a cheap to buy car or do we wish to see values rising (here in the UK... Because they do have a value abroad)

How, if we wish to see values rising do we achieve it?

Just a starter for discussion.....

It was a comment make to me that the club has too many chiefs not enough indians. i didn't agree. but thought the question merrited an airing. Derek currently has the regailia in storage and there is an advert for regalia planned for the next DT. i will speak to Derek and see what can be arranged to get it too you Daryl.

Thats why we moved the AGM to sunday.

Now what we need to do is keep the AGM short enough to not eat everybodies shopping time.

" Do the membership feel that the club has too many committee members?

Do any of you think that we could / should merge any posts on the committee?

can any one out there  put their hand up to post out regalia for the club (all legit expenses found )

Vern apparently the AGM was held on Mondays to encourage members to attend both days......as if. "

IMHO - Reducing the number of commitee members would only increase the workload on those who are left - they then get fed up especially when the rank and file moan about slow response to something or other. Then we'll be back where we were 3 years ago when the club was almost commiteeless:-o

I can see it might be needed every so often to re-assess who does what and is that role still relevent.

In other words not fewer comitee members but members who are doing what the club needs at the time. Eg with the various forums do we need technical members on the comitee? May be its just a name change or may be a redefining of the role.

As for turning up to Stoneleigh both days, those who can and want to will, regardless of which day the AGM is held, but for those of us who have to work the Monday then Sunday is the only day we can attend. Further since your passenger now has to pay entry there is also a cost implication to going both days in addition to the fuel cost. Only those commitee members who are there both days will know which day is best supported and thus which is the best day for the AGM.
