DuttonOwners

Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Define what we as the DOC are about...

Just what are we trying to achieve here and on the other Dutton sites?

Do we wish to only preserve Duttons as they left the factory?

are we looking to use and modify our cars to suit the modern road conditions?

are we looking to find new ways of solving old problems or are we looking to keep a supply of classic parts to maintain the cars as they were built?

Are we going to discourage modifying of the cars bodywork?

what modifications are acceptable, if any?

Are we looking to keep Duttons as a cheap to buy car or do we wish to see values rising (here in the UK... Because they do have a value abroad)

How, if we wish to see values rising do we achieve it?

Just a starter for discussion.....

Do the membership feel that the club has too many committee members?

Do any of you think that we could / should merge any posts on the committee?

can any one out there  put their hand up to post out regalia for the club (all legit expenses found )

Vern apparently the AGM was held on Mondays to encourage members to attend both days......as if.

i'm going to jump on band wagon here! the guys from DOC have been really really helpful to me and personally thanks to them.

As for cars they should be as unique as the characters that own them! poor quality cars is another whole subject, again, personally why anyone would bodge something is beyond me!

i'll be quiet now but will be starting a technical subject shortly and would appreciate peoples input!

Often wondered why it was on the Monday - maybe more people will attend if its on the Sunday

Hear! Hear! BV,

The active committee do not have to stand up and be counted on here, and a part from a couple named earlier who have not logged onto the this site in 2 and 6 months respectively. Decisions on how the club is run should be put to the vote of the membership and not poo poo'd away until the AGM where Derek decides, this is a well supported club with very passionate members looking to protect the marque.

I asked about the accounts, not because of anything other than an interest in how our membership fees where being used, and maybe someone may have an idea where saving can be made or funds used to make the active committee's lives easier.

Ade I know for a fact puts untold hours in trying to sort the membership data into a usable format, and speaking with the DVLA, Daryl actice in the ID fraud side of things, Steve K working hard to get out an interesting DT for us all, but this is a struggle as he has nothing from the members to publish. The last DT was very well put together and thanks for that Steve.

I am sure you all don't want to read about a group of mad Northerners every time (although we are very interesting) there was input from our friends in German and as ever Dave Adams who work tirlessly on answering queries that arise and is usally the first to answer a request on here. It's no use having a go at these guys they only steer the ship we have to do the rowing to make it work.

There are plenty of rebuilds and Mod's going on at the moment, so let see some more input from you guys whilst day to day stuff is nice to see on here a more in depth story of what you are doing fills a magazine and shows those members of the DOC that don't post on this or the other sites, that there is an active section of the Club that would benefit from their input too.

So come on guys you have proved you can read and write here lets get some interesting articles into the next DT.

P.S big pat on the back to Derek Fisher for trying to build a new DOC site.
