Yes its been a while since i first discovered the leak, but until now the weathers been crap in the"garage", anyway i thought all along it was water pump gasket and it was. Whoever had fitted the pump last put the gasket on without any compound of any description, after cleaning up the e/ block and pump faces i made a new gasket and fitted it and the pump useing a little silicone sealer. The biggest problem i had was seperating the viscous fan and the pump, as i wanted to ditch it in favour of an electric one.I had an idea that the fan screwed off the pump, the flats on the shaft gave it away, what i did 'nt know was it was lefthand thread! So after a while of tightening it further perhaps i tried it the other way and with quite a lot of effort it was on its way off.Anyway two runs out and no more water dripping on the floor and the radiator stays full.

Just to add to the last comment, the radiator is a 1600 x/flow, while the engine is 1300 x/flow, so that should help, cant move rad anymore forward, but yes i do intend to fit ducting.
Hope to get down to the breakers yard in next few days and sort out a suitable fan Dave, until i do ill have to pretend im in one of those new fangled cars and turn the engine off if i get stood in traffic!
electric fan very easy to sort out and moving the rad forward in the car as well as ducting the air will give big dividends....
